It has been stated that the Magpies are facing competition in the form of Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to land the Uruguayan talent this summer.

Araujo's Impressive Form At The Nou Camp Araujo put in a series of impressive displays at the heart of the Barcelona backline in the previous campaign. The 25-year-old featured in 37 matches for the Catalan outfit last season, netting one goal and picking up three assists in all competitions.

The Rivera-born talent has been a dominant presence inside his half based on his average of 1.1 tackles, 0.5 interceptions and 2.5 clearances per 90 minutes in La Liga.
