The latest transfer talk from Old Trafford as Manchester United prepare for a hectic summer in the transfer market.

Manchester United are reportedly facing competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Serie A giants AC Milan as they look to secure a deal for Netherlands Under-21 international Joshua Zirkzee.

The former Bayern Munich and Parma forward enjoyed an impressive season last time out as he scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 37 appearances to help Bologna secure a fifth place finish in Italy's top tier and earn qualification for the Champions League for the first time in their history. Zirkzee's performances have attracted interest from several clubs around Europe and the presence of a reported PS34m release clause in his current contract have only added to the attraction over a possible deal.

Bologna technical director Giovanni Sartori has already hinted the forward's future will lie away from his club and suggested he is working hard to find a replacement. Speaking to Sky Italia earlier this week, he said: "Zirkzee has a clause so he will leave 99.9 per cent. We have been thinking about his replacement for months. It won't be easy but we will work to replace him, we already have some names, some ideas."

United are believed to be leading the race to sign the 23-year-old and are considering triggering his release clause over the coming days. In a further boost to Erik ten Hag's hopes of landing one of his main transfer targets, CaughtOffside have claimed Zirkzee is ready to 'rebuff any offer' from Arsenal and has 'prioritised' a move to Old Trafford. AC Milan are also claimed to be preparing another offer for the Dutchman - but they are described as 'aware' they are trailing United in the race to secure his services.

Meanwhile, there have been suggestion Bruno Fernandes is set to be handed a lucrative opportunity to bring his time at Old Trafford to a close. TEAMtalk have reported United have 'given the green light' for the Portugal star to discuss a potential move to Saudi Arabia after he received an 'increasingly insistent' approach from the Gulf state's Public Investment Fund in recent months. The report confirms Al Ittihad and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr are both keen to sign Fernandes and both clubs have 'explained their positions, projects and the possible role' they would hand the midfielder within their side.

Speaking about his future at Old Trafford prior to Euro 2024, Fernandes told Dazn Portugal: "I don't have thoughts for other things at the moment. It doesn't just depend on me. So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won't be until after the Euros. We can end the season by winning the FA Cup, then we have the European Championship, which is very important for us. Nothing will take my focus away from this end of the championship, the FA Cup and the European Championship. There is nothing more important than that at the moment."
