Man Utd have submitted a second bid with a raised offer to sign Joao Neves but it still will not be enough.

At the start of last month, Record revealed the Red Devils made a bid worth 60 million euros for the Portuguese midfielder, but it was turned down.

As per today's version of the renowned Portuguese source, Man Utd have now raised the bid as they do not give up on getting his signing done.

Record claim that after seeing their 60 million euro bid got 'immediately rejected', Man Utd have returned to charge with a proposal worth 70 million euros for Neves.

The Lisbon based source state that the Old Trafford outfit have warned this will be their 'last offer' to sign the Seleccao defensive midfielder.

However, the bid is far below the termination clause of 120 million euros and Benfica want at least 100 million euros for their prized asset.

So, it is likely that Man Utd will eventually fail to sign Neves, who takes home a relatively low salary of PS508,000 a year.

In contrast, the first choice play breaker at United, Casemiro, is the highest earner at PS18.2million a year despite being past his best.

Last summer, the 20-time English champions lured Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina and the Moroccan has now returned to the Italian side after an average campaign at Old Trafford.

Therefore, Man Utd desperately need a solid holding midfield star this summer. In your view, who should Ten Hag sign for the No.6 role if he fails to secure Joao Neves?
