Everton's former chief Keith Wyness has suggested Man United could strike an Old Trafford naming rights deal with new kit sponsors Snapdragon.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old - who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs - claimed the semiconductor company could also be involved in taking Premier League games overseas.

Man United announced their deal with Qualcomm on Monday (1 July), with the Snapdragon brand front and centre of their new kit for the 2024-25 campaign.

Snapdragon already holds naming rights for a multi-use stadium in San Diego and is a partner for the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team.

Football Insider has been told by finance expert Stefan Borson (30 June) that Man United could bring in more than PS50million a year if they can land a stadium naming rights deal.

Snapdragon could seal Man United stadium deal, says Wyness Wyness told fans to "watch this space", but claimed Snapdragon would be a "strange fit" for United.

He told Football Insider's Insider Track podcast: "Snapdragon have got their feet in sport already with Formula 1.

"They've also done a couple of stadium deals, so they may be looking at Old Trafford for a naming rights deal.

"It's very much watch this space on that front.

"For a company based around processors, it does seem a strange fit for Man United - and I don't think it's the right one for United.

"Also, I see the Snapdragon people talking about bringing Premier League games overseas.

Man United "That was interesting to see. I wouldn't be surprised if that was prompted in some way by the Ratcliffe regime, because they have been talking about having more say within the Premier League.

"Taking games overseas is exactly the kind of thing they could be willing to do."
