Manchester United are not expecting to solve all of their issues in one transfer window, but they are certainly looking for a strong start to the summer.
They have enjoyed a good start with Dan Ashworth joining as the club's sporting director, while Christopher Vivell has joined as director of global talent.
They will help Jason Wilcox, who is being tasked with implementing a clear football methodology across the men's first team and academy, and will also and lead on all men's first team player recruitment.
There is already a long list of things to do for Ashworth and Vivell in their first week at the club, with 14 obvious transfer deals that need to be completed this summer if possible.
