Juventus star responds as Man Utd line up £43m transfer bid under Dan Ashworth's orders
Source:Metro.co.uk: News,

The 27-year-old has been identified as one of United's top targets at centre-back, with the Old Trafford giants braced for a flurry of comings and goings in the transfer market in the wake of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's PS1.3billion partial takeover.

The Red Devils finally announced the appointment of Dan Ashworth as sporting director in the week after a compensation package was agreed with Newcastle for the 53-year-old.

But it's understood Ashworth has been involved in conversations with United bosses for some time regarding the club's transfer business and even gave the green light to pursue a PS43million bid for Bremer.

The highly rated defender joined Juve two years ago for a fee of around PS38m and was named in the Serie A Team of the Year for two years running after winning the award for the division's best defender at Torino in 2022.

Recent reports suggested United were even prepared to use Mason Greenwood as a makeweight in a potential deal for Bremer, but it appears the Brazil international has no interest in a summer switch.

'I am flattered by the interest of some top clubs but I am already in a great team like Juventus. I am very focused on the Copa America,' Bremer said when asked about his future while on Brazil duty.

'I have many goals. I want to play one or two World Cups and I want to continue fighting for important titles in Europe.'

'I feel very good about everything I have done in recent seasons,' Bremer added.

'Little by little we are helping Juventus to return to being an elite team and to fight for major goals.

'I really hope that next season will be a season of great joy for all of us, the players and fans.'

'He will be welcomed very well by the entire squad,' Bremer continued.

'He is a great professional who is doing a brilliant job and I think it was a great choice by the club.

'As for me, I will do my best to help him adapt as soon as possible.'
