Sergio Reguilon is healthy but match fitness may delay Spurs exit Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United in the ongoing summer transfer window; however, injury claims emerge as a concern with the former Atletico Madrid star, which can cause problems in concluding his Spurs exit.
The North Londoners signed the Spanish international in 2020 on the back of some exceptional performances in the Spanish top tier. However, he has not been able to replicate his prowess in the English top tier with the Lilywhites.
He also sustained a roller coaster of a 2023-24 campaign. The former Real Madrid star ended the season on a high note with a splendid spell of form on loan at city neighbours Brentford, following a mixed first half of the campaign on loan at Manchester United. The fact that the Red Devils decided to part ways mid-season is rather telling.
It has been great to play for Manchester United and I just want to say thank you to the club, the fans and my teammates. It was a privilege to play for this huge club.I wish all the best for the Red Devils. pic.twitter.com/HpD2XbRqM6

Injury concerns and Spurs' transfer stance Sergio Reguilon's fitness concerns emerge. Manchester United have expressed interest in re-signing Sergio Reguilon this summer, per AS, and looking at the Spaniard, Dr Rajpal Brar acknowledged that while the Spanish international has not had any injury setbacks off late, a lack of game time under his belt might prove costly. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:
"He has not had injuries, so that's definitely a boost for any side looking to sign him. On the flip side, he's not featured regularly, so his match fitness has been low throughout the last season. Typically, not having consistent matches will dent fitness and potentially increase the risk of overload and thus injuries, but the extent is difficult to discern."
More Tottenham Hotspur News: Tottenham would be looking to sell Sergio Reguilon on a permanent deal, and Levy would be looking to secure a reasonable fee as he would look to reinvest the amount into strengthening other areas of the pitch this summer.
