Girona are in advanced talks to sign Manchester United attacking midfielder Donny van de Beek who's been previously offered to Everton, Fulham, Lazio and Ajax, according to Caught Offside.

The news outlet reported on 6 June that the former Toffees loanee is leaving United for an initial fee of just PS500k.

It's understood that Fulham, Lazio, Ajax and even the Merseyside outfit were not keen on re-signing the Netherlands international this summer.

Everton must not bring Donny van de Beek back to Goodison Park The Dutchman's previous loan spell at the club was largely unsuccessful, with the midfielder struggling to make an impact and failing to secure a regular starting position.

Since then, he has done nothing to prove why he deserves a second chance.

The Toffees have since changed their manager, with Sean Dyche now in charge who has his own ideas about the style of play and the type of players he wants in his squad.

The 27-year-old failed to live up to the promise he showed at Ajax and the fact that he's going for such a paltry fee suggests he's unlikely to return to a high level again.

His form and confidence have been affected by his lack of playing time at Manchester United and his loan spells have also been unsuccessful.

Everton stadium Goodison Park New Everton owners are coming at Goodison Park. The Toffees should be looking to sign players who are in good form and full of confidence, rather than taking a risk on a player who has struggled in recent seasons.

In other Everton news, the club have submitted an offer to sign an international striker after the announcement of Iliman Ndiaye.
