Yoro is set to sign for United very soon after they agreed a deal with Lille worth an initial PS42million, which could rise to PS52m after add-ons.

Though paying such a fee for a teenager with just one proper season of first-team football has raised eyebrows, some believe the transfer could be a real coup for United.

The 18-year-old's efforts saw him named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year and Erik ten Hag's side have beaten Real Madrid and PSG to the centre-back's signature.

And if Gomes' word is anything to go buy, Yoro will be a brilliant player at Old Trafford for many years to come.

The Englishman has played 51 games alongside the Frenchman over the past two season at Lille and previously told Eurosport: 'Leny, from when he first came [into the team], I knew immediately that he was going to go to the top.

''When I was at Manchester United as a 16-year-old, I understood what it was like to be around first-team players.

But [Yoro] has a different type of temperament.

Two bids for Jarrad Branthwaite have been rejected by Everton who are holding out for PS70m, which means a deal for Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt seems more likely.
