uk Search Erik ten Hag could risk upsetting the apple cart at Manchester United this summer.
Link copied BookmarkUnited have already seen a bid accepted for Lille defender Leny Yoro, who is reportedly set for a medical in the coming days.
Real Madrid are still thought to retain a keen interest in the 18-year-old but the Red Devils appear to be close to signing him for themselves.
It seems Yoro will not be the only defender to join United this summer, with a number of other targets believed to be in their sights.
They have been heavily linked with Bayern Munich ace Matthijs de Ligt, who is said to be keen on taking up a new challenge at Old Trafford.
United are willing to sign as many as three new central defenders before the transfer window closes, according to the Manchester Evening News.
However, there is a chance that Ten Hag could upset the apple cart by bringing in so many players in one position.
It would leave them with up to six players vying for two starting spots, meaning some will inevitably grow frustrated at a lack of game time.
They already have Lisandro Martinez, who will expect to start every match, while Harry Maguire is likely to be reduced to a back-up role.
United also have Victor Lindelof but the Swede has reportedly been earmarked for a sale, although nothing is imminent with the Red Devils struggling to find a buyer.
De Ligt, Yoro, Martinez and Maguire are all out-and-out central defenders, which suggests there will be no room for them to play in other positions.
It seems unlikely that Ten Hag will change his system to play three at the back, meaning those out of favour could be unhappy campers.
Don't miss.

Chelsea issue statement on Enzo Fernandez as squad 'very angry' with star [NEWS]Inside Arsenal transfer plans as Edu eyes 'new Jorginho and Leandro Trossard' [INSIGHT]Man Utd 'have Gareth Southgate agreement' as part of Erik ten Hag back-up plan [GOSSIP] Invalid emailIt remains to be seen whether United will follow through on their plans to recruit three new centre-backs before the end of the window.
They might be better off investing some of that money to improve in other areas, with Ten Hag known to be wanting at least one new midfielder.
The Dutchman said last month that he would be looking to sign a striker and a playmaker in addition to more defensive reinforcements.
United have already ticked one of those boxes with the capture of Joshua Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna earlier this week.
In midfield, they are said to be targeting Paris Saint-Germain ace Manuel Ugarte with reports suggesting a bid of around PS38m has already been made.
He may be deemed surplus to requirements by PSG if Joao Neves joins them from Benfica, potentially softening their stance on doing a deal with United.
