Manchester United are closing in on defensive target Leny Yoro, with the Lille defender headed for the UK for discussions, but Erik tan Hag has more work to do this summer Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag may be forced to abandon one of his other defensive targets if the club completes a deal for Leny Yoro, with the Dutchman also facing a selection dilemma.
French teenager Yoro had appeared to favour Real Madrid over an Old Trafford switch, but things have taken a turn with Los Blancos failing to match United's PS52m bid.
The Lille starlet is on his way to Manchester for a medical, with a deal seemingly imminent.
This was always likely to be a busy summer for the Premier League club, with defenders Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala both leaving and Victor Lindelof linked with a move away.
Yoro is one of a number of players targeted, along with Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite, but his arrival could well see one of those names drop off the list.
"At Marseille, I knew Boubacar Kamara, at Saint-Etienne, William Saliba and Wesley Fofana, and now there's Leny Yoro," the French international said, per Goal.
"He has all the qualities and potential to do something huge.
He's very humble, and that's another of his strengths.
"Despite only turning 18 in November, Yoro developed into a regular at Lille last term.
He played 44 times in all competitions, scoring three times, as Les Dogues finished fourth in Ligue 1 and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.

5m move from Bologna completed over the weekend.
The former Bayern Munich forward will provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund up front following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial during Ten Hag's two years as manager.
"He's a player who can link up the game, who can be available, hold up the ball, have good ideas, be creative and who can dribble in combinations," Ten Hag said of Zirkzee.
"So that's a different type [of player] and always what we are looking for, so it gives us more options tactically, which is good.
"Particularly up front, we have many players who can play very direct, so they can take a big benefit for his skills.
