The latest Premier League transfer rumours, including news from Manchester United, West Ham, Spurs and Everton.
Welcome to Thursday's digest of all the biggest and wildest Premier League transfer rumours currently doing the media rounds - and we start with news that not one but two players could soon be joining each other in leaving Manchester United for a brand new gig in the capital.
Caught Offside claim that West Ham United are set to sign right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with talks apparently "progressing well" over a deal which the Old Trafford brass hope will end up in the PS17-20m range - quite a bit less than the PS50m or so they spent for him a few years ago, but better than losing him for free when his contract expires next summer.
This report comes just a day after the same website alleged that West Ham were also reviving their long-standing interest in Scott McTominay - thought to be valued at around PS40m - after Turkish side Galatasaray enquired after the Scotsman - coincidentally, the very same club that had allegedly asked after Wan-Bissaka not so very long ago. But instead of swapping Salford for the Bosphorous, it looks like London might be the destination instead.
The 3AM Verdict: From Manchester United's perspective, getting any sensible fee for Wan-Bissaka is a reasonable outcome at this point, but McTominay has been so important for them and adds so much work-rate to their midfield that it's hard to imagine they'll get enough cash to make up for the loss. West Ham will get a player who will give their team industry and dangerous late runs into the box, while Wan-Bissaka can surely do better in a team which doesn't want a more attacking wing-back.
Spurs keen on ChiesaThe transfer battle for Federico Chiesa is finally starting to heat up, according to TeamTalk, who cite Italian media sources when claiming that Tottenham Hotspur have made the first "concrete approach" for the Juventus forward, who is expected to leave after the Turin team decided against meeting his PS130,000 per week wage demands.
Liverpool and Chelsea are among the Premier League sides said to be considering an offer for the Italian international, who was superb a few seasons ago but has struggled for consistency since thanks to persistent injuries. TeamTalk don't claim to know what Spurs' opening bid was, but reckon that Juve will let Chiesa leave for a fee of around EUR25-30m (PS21-25m).
The 3AM Verdict: Any move for Chiesa is a risky one given his injury history but he still shows flashes of the lethal wide forward he appeared to be around 2021 and the price range isn't exorbitant by modern standards. The Chelsea interest always seemed strange given how many wingers they have, but we'll see who else comes in - if Spurs can make it happen, it could end up looking like quite a coup down the line.
Everton set for Swiss swoopFinally, some news from Goodison Park - according to Sport Witness, Everton have set their sights on Montpellier defender Becir Omeragic, who made 28 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and seems to have impressed Sean Dyche.
Apparently the Toffees are "particularly fond" of the 22-year-old Switzerland international, who spent most of his career at FC Zurich before moving to Montpellier on a free transfer last summer. There's no indication of a potential asking price or what Everton might be prepared to pay - just a belief that the club are interested in pursuing a deal if they can.
The 3AM Verdict: Omeragic is perhaps more confident with the ball at his feet than many of Everton's current crop of centre-halves but isn't as powerful or as impressive in the air - but he's still proven to be a strong tackler with good positional sense. He can also play in midfield, which may help with squad depth, something Everton don't have very much of. Without knowing the price point it's hard to gauge how good a deal might be, but anything up to about PS10m or so feels reasonable at first glance.
