Man United will get a boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt if Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah joins Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Bayern need to sign a replacement for De Ligt, 24, before they are willing to allow him to leave.

The German giants hold a long-term interest in Tah, 28, and are ready to swoop after he entered the final 12 months of his contract at Leverkusen.

Sources say Bayern are working on a deal for the Germany international, which could then set off a "domino effect" which could bring De Ligt to Old Trafford.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (22 July) that Man United are determined to seal a deal for the centre-back despite already signing teenager Leny Yoro.
