Chelsea and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing Brentford's Ivan Toney before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen did appear to be the former's priority, but it has been claimed that Chelsea are now looking at alternatives to Osimhen.
Toney seems to be one of them and the striker is available after entering the final year of his contract.
He has missed all three of Brentford's games this season so far, including their 1-0 win against Colchester United in the second round of the Carabao Cup last night.
Chelsea were linked with Toney earlier in the week but now face competition from one of their Premier League rivals it seems.
However, if it comes down to a choice between Chelsea and United, it looks like the Blues would win, with the Evening Standard's report also claiming that moving to Stamford Bridge is Toney's priority.

Chelsea should sign Toney over Osimhen, believes former Premier League striker Troy Deeney.
Ivan Toney should now be Chelsea's priority With a deal for Osimhen becoming increasingly difficult amid rival interest from Al-Ahli, now is the time for Chelsea to prioritise signing Toney.
He would not be a bad alternative to the 25-year-old, already familiar with English football's top division.
Chelsea can still try to convince Osimhen to join Enzo Maresca's side, but they risk missing out on Toney to United if they spend any more time on the Nigerian.
It means the Blues could end up with neither by the time the transfer window closes on Friday, something the club will want to avoid.
If Chelsea do fail to sign either Toney or Osimhen, then Maresca will have to rely on Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu - the only natural No.9s currently in his squad - though Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix can also play up front.
