Report: Man United prepared to offer £150k-a-week contract to 'world-class' Newcastle attacking target
Source:Football News,

Manchester United and Newcastle United are just two of the Premier League clubs said to be interested in Raheem Sterling.

The England international has no future at Chelsea, which has piqued the interest of Man United and Newcastle among others.

For instance, The Telegraph have reported that the Red Devils are in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Sterling.

Meanwhile, GiveMeSport have claimed that the Magpies are keen to sign Sterling as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his attacking ranks.

The likes of Aston Villa and West Ham United are said to be in the race for the 29-year-old along with the Red Devils and the Magpies.

Now, another report from GiveMeSport has outlined how much the Old Trafford outfit is willing to offer Sterling in terms of wages.

Sterling would have to accept being viewed as a squad player instead of a key component of Erik ten Hag's immediate plans, according to the report.

In addition, Sterling would be taking a massive pay cut, as he is said to be on PS325,000-a-week at Chelsea.

Man United will have the edge over Newcastle in Sterling pursuit Manchester United are likely to be ahead of Newcastle in pursuit of Sterling, for several reasons.

The first is that the Red Devils are in the Europa League this season, whereas the Magpies aren't in Europe at all.

The second is that Sterling previously admitted that he was a big Man United fan growing up, so he'd be fulfilling a childhood dream by playing for the Red Devils.

Admittedly, the "world-class" ace would probably get more game time at Newcastle than at Man United, and it remains to be seen how much the Magpies would offer salary-wise.

Sterling have to weigh up the pros and cons of each respective move if offers are made to him from both clubs. This is certainly one to watch over the coming days.
