Chelsea are still hopeful of concluding a few late deals in the transfer window and they are trying to sign Manchester United's Jadon Sancho.
Sancho is out of favour at United and is happy to leave but knows that a deal must be struck between the clubs for him to get his wish.
Earlier, it was reported how Chelsea had made two approaches to United for Sancho as they looked to take him on loan.
The decision was left with the Old Trafford club to decide on what to do and as yet, nothing seems to have advanced.
And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Chelsea are very much playing a waiting game with the ball firmly in the court of United.
However, rather than really pushing, Jacobs says Chelsea are simply sitting back and awaiting 'feedback' on their offers, rather than actually negotiating.
Jadon Sancho will be praying for late business Sometimes, the player involved simply has to sit back and wait and that's all Jadon Sancho can do in this scenario.
At the end of the day, he is a Manchester United player and it comes down to them as a club to accept something for Sancho.
For Chelsea, there must have been some encouragement from somewhere that they can get a deal for Sancho over the line.
But as of now, it very much looks like they too are playing a waiting game as well.
With a move for Victor Osimhen to come to Chelsea still also on the cards, there could well be a frantic finish to proceedings at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford.
