HITC understands that Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Billy Gilmour is set for a medical at Napoli to sign for the Italian side.

Napoli have had a busy day on transfer deadline day with the Italian club completing the signing of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

We reported earlier this week that Napoli were close to finalising a double deal of McTominay and Romelu Lukaku with the Belgian forward set to be a key player for the Italian club.

The Italian club are keen on Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour and now sources have told HITC that the Scottish international has now finalised his move to Antonio Conte's Napoli.

Brighton were unsure about allowing Gilmour to leave but the Scottish international pushed strongly and a deal was agreed earlier this week and he has completed his formalities.

We had reported that Brighton had changed their mind over Gilmour's future with the South Coast club keen to hold onto the former Chelsea midfielder.

HITC reported that Gilmour talks have advanced and the player had agreed personal terms in principle with Napoli, but in recent weeks, the Scottish international has continued to train with the first team and he has impressed new Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler.

However, despite starting against Manchester United in a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Red Devils, Gilmour now looks set to follow Premier League stars to the Serie A.

We reported that Napoli were keen on McTominay with the Italian club director Giovanni Manna flying to fly into England to try and get a deal done for the Scottish midfielder.

With the Italian club being busy with signings, the future of Victor Osimhen is also up in the air with Chelsea remaining hopeful of striking a deal for the Nigeria forward from Naples.

Al-Ahli had agreed a deal with Napoli for Osimhen but the Nigerian is holding off from making a decision on his future until the transfer window closes.
