Aaron Ramsey gives honest thoughts on Ineos after working with Man Utd owners

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has predicted that INEOS will do an 'unbelievable job' in charge of Manchester United.

Ramsey, 33, knows United's football chiefs from his time with them at French club Nice, who were purchased by INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe in 2019. Ratcliffe, dubbed Britain's second-richest man, then expanded his sporting portfolio in February of this year after completing a PS1.3billion deal to acquire a 27.7 stake in United, having grown up supporting them.

Joined by ex-British cycling chief Sir Dave Brailsford, Ratcliffe took control of the Red Devils' football operations as part of a huge shake-up at Old Trafford. United's woeful start to the season under incumbent manager Erik ten Hag and a series of unpopular cost-cutting decisions has seen Ratcliffe come in for criticism, but Ramsey reckons that the billionaire will guide the Red Devils back to the top.

Appearing on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the 86-time Wales international explained: "They wanted to invest a lot into Nice and make that a hub in European football. Sir Jim, being a Man United fan and him then having the chance to own them, I think they'll do an unbelievable job there. It's just going to take a little bit of time.

INEOS' vision for Nice is what Ramsey says drew him to the south of France in 2022, having left Italian giants Juventus on a free transfer. During an interview with L'Equipe at the time, the 33-year-old revealed: "I was seduced by the INEOS project. To me everything was brilliant, from the vision of the club to the way they wanted to develop.

"Obviously, you want to be in the best shape for the national team, but Nice is perfect for me. With the vision of INEOS, their experience in all sports, it's only a matter of time for Nice to fight to play in the Champions League. It's very exciting."
