Julen Lopetegui believes Aaron Wan-Bissaka needs to improve his consistency in attack and defence to become a hit at West Ham United.
The full-back joined the Hammers in the summer transfer window for a fee worth around PS15million [Manchester Evening News, 12 August] and has become a first-team regular for Lopetegui.
In quotes reported by the Mirror (26 October), Lopetegui shared that the right-back still has things to develop in order to become a reliable player for the club.
"Aaron has a good profile and good potential to develop more. He can become a consistent player in a defensive way but in attack too. It's about the work of the full backs," he said.
"They have to defend and attack. The first is to defend, the second is to attack. In this he has a good profile but he has to develop things to be more consistent.

West Ham United need to improve their Premier League performance This season, the Hammers' summer transfer window seemed to promise that things would be better but, at the moment, it feels like they're worse than when David Moyes was in charge.
Many questioned the hiring of Lopetegui when the deal was first announced due to his mediocre spell with Wolves and a fan base that was dubious before is probably questioning the decision even more so now.

West Ham are 16th in the table and are just five points away from the drop zone. To some, a five-point margin may seem like a decent gap but with the way the club are currently performing, it feels quite worrisome.
