Sunday 27 October 2024 09:00 Share With email Copy Link Erik ten Hag is convinced the goals will start to flow regularly for Manchester United now Rasmus Hojlund is back to fitness.

The Denmark international opened his account for 2024/25 with a clever finish to supply the winner in the comeback victory, last time out in the Premier League against Brentford at Old Trafford.

He started on the bench in the Europa League, as United drew 1-1 with Fenerbahce on Thursday, but could be reinstated to the line-up for Sunday's return to domestic action, away to West Ham United at the London Stadium.

There are other forwards capable of hitting the net and, of course, Christian Eriksen bagged his fourth of the term for the Reds with the opener in Istanbul.

That places him joint-second behind leading marksman Alejandro Garnacho (five in all competitions, two in the Premier League) but it is clear the Reds need to start being more productive in front of goal.

Article Erik ten Hag hopes to have two Reds who missed the Turkey trip available in the capital on Sunday.

"Rasmus Hojlund is now fit," explained Ten Hag to Premier League Productions. "He was injured, so far, in the season. Now he is getting up to speed and that is very good. Of course, we missed him, obviously, as a striker, in the first games of the season.

"It will help the team. Also, we can then rotate as there are others who can score goals.

"Joshua Zirkzee, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, of course. We have many players who can score goals and we want to improve our attacking game."

United have lost on our previous two visits to the Hammers' home, without finding the net.

On the back of a long trip to the Asian part of Istanbul, facing a side well rested throughout the week, the 14:00 GMT kick-off will be another challenge for Ten Hag's men.

"This is a massive week for us," admitted the boss. "West Ham, it's always tough there. The last two seasons, we lost, so we need a better performance to get the points there."

The match will not be shown live on UK television but you can follow radio commentary and live updates on the United App and ManUtd.com.
