View: Clement could force out one Rangers player in Jan, he lost 100% of his duels v Livingston

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack could now be walking on thin ice at Ibrox after his abject display in their 2-0 win over Livingston on Sunday (12 November).

The Gers extended their unbeaten start under manager Phillipe Clement to seven games with a 2-0 win at the Tony Macaroni Arena thanks to goals for Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier.

The result meant the Light Blues cut the gap to five points from leaders Celtic but for only a few hours after the Hoops recorded a 6-0 win over Aberdeen which means they remain eight points ahead of their Old Firm rivals.

However, the Gers kept up their stunning resurgence under the Belgian coach with it now six wins from their seven games since Clement walked through the doors at Ibrox last month.

Rangers fans can certainly testify that Clement has improved and reinvigorated what he has at his disposal right now but will be expecting a busy transfer window in January as the Belgian looks to make his own stamp on the squad.

One area of his squad in real area of need of addressing is in midfield for which the Belgian will be demanding some fresh legs to fully get his high-intensity philosophy across at Ibrox but that could well damage the future of some of his experienced heads.

And one of those players could be Jack, who certainly left a lot to be desired on Sunday.

As per SofaScore, the Ibrox veteran failed to register a single duel won at the Tony Macaroni Arena, losing 100% of his ground duels and 100% of his aerial with just two duels contested. Jack also failed to register a single key pass against a struggling Livingston side, completed just 50% of his long ball attempts and lost possession ten times.

The Ibrox veteran signed a new contract at the club in May (Rangers website, 19 May) extending his stay for another year following some decent performances for the club.

With under a year remaining on his current deal, the midfielder recently stated (Daily Record, 11 November) that he remains relaxed over his situation at Ibrox and wants to stay at Ibrox for as long as possible.

However, given his performance on Sunday, Clement may well feel he isn't at the level required to take his plans at Ibrox to the next level for the long-term and that could well mean the Belgian forces him out in January.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are now reliant on a favour from Celtic to reach the FIFA Club World Cup
