Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has once again shone for Portugal as they made it the perfect 10 in their qualifying campaign.

It was a 2-0 win for Roberto Martinez's side in the end and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was on top form once again as he netted for his national team.

The goal itself was a brilliant one, after a layoff from Bernardo Silva, Fernandes took a touch on the right-hand side before firing a shot hard and low into the bottom corner to make it 10 wins in a row in their group.

Erik ten Hag will be pleased to see his midfielder once again performing to a high level but the hope will be that the United midfielder can bring his international form to the Premier League.

In their analysis of the comfortable victory against Iceland, the Portuguese outlet awarded the midfielder the man of the match award and gave him a 7/10 performance.

"When it comes to choosing the big figure of the qualification, the commander-in-chief, the spotlight turns to Bruno Fernandes: king of assists among all groups and six goals, one of them against Iceland in another great performance," the Portuguese outlet wrote.

Fernandes has been king of assists in the qualifying stages and the hope will be the midfielder can turn those assists for his country to assists for his club, too.

Fernandes' numbers Actually, if you look at the midfielder's numbers for this season, he has once again flourished for the Red Devils but doesn't have the goals or the assists to show for it yet.

This is partly down to the fact that the United front line is so profligate at this moment in time but the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder is doing all he can to assist his teammates.

His 5.96 shot-creation actions per 90 minutes (via FBREF), for example, make him the third-best midfielder for his creativity in Europe's top five leagues.

The midfielder is doing all he can to assist his teammates but until the finishing improves in the front line, Fernandes won't get recognised for his efforts. Goals need to start flowing.
