Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in signing Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo (page 8).

The 16-year-old has been with Palmeiras since the summer of 2016. He is currently a regular with the Under-20 side and has made 14 appearances this season.

Willian, also fondly known as 'Messinho', has the ability to play on either wing and Mundo Deportivo claim that he is on the radar of several elite European clubs.

United are one of those but they may have to trigger the EUR60 million release clause in his contract.

Paris Saint-Germain have already made two bids of EUR40m and EUR50m for the wonderkid, who will only be allowed to move to Europe after he turns 18 in April 2025.

Man Utd should look into move for Messinho The youngster has yet to represent the senior squad at Palmeiras but definitely has huge potential.

At the ongoing Under-17 World Cup, he has been a class above the rest. He has completed a stunning 82 per cent of his dribbles in his four appearances at the tournament.

The teenager has also registered three goals and three assists from the right wing. This has been a problematic position for the Red Devils for some period of time.

Messinho won't be allowed to join an overseas club until the summer of 2025, but United need to show ambition to secure his signature ahead of the usual suspects.

PSG are determined to sign him at the earliest while Real Madrid are also contenders for the wonderkid. Barcelona are apparently the player's preferred destination.

United are not known for spending huge fees on teenage talents. It remains to be seen whether there is a change in this policy with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's investment into the club.
