Manchester United paid a heavy fee to sign Casemiro last year when the Brazilian was already past his prime.

The Samba star did help United earn Champions League qualification but now, he is facing the exit door as per reports (The Mail).

To replace the former Real Madrid defensive midfielder, Man Utd are eyeing the signing of Portuguese international, Joao Neves.

United need a versatile regista in the No. 6 role and the 19-year-old midfielder is not only a quality play breaker but also a deep lying playmaker.

Captain, Bruno Fernandes is already a massive fan of the 'excellent' teenage sensation and would like him to join the Red Devils.

According to a report covered by O Jogo (news image provided below), multiple top clubs in Europe have identified Neves as a potential signing, however, Benfica do not want to sell their prized asset.

Moreover, even the player himself wants to stay in Lisbon for a 'few more years'.

The media outlet have mentioned that likes of Man Utd, Man City, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have expressed their interest in securing the teenage sensation and have learned the fee to get the deal over the line.

O Jogo claim, the suitors want to hire his services and they "will have to meet the clause" worth 120 million euros (PS104million).

For now, Casemiro is injured and United do have Amrabat, on loan, who has not impressed much as yet.
