The Frenchman joined Manchester United in 2021, on a four-year deal until June 2025 for a fee believed to be around PS41m including add-ons.

It looked to be one of the greatest deals in the club's history. Varane brought an extensive wealth of footballing experience and a driven mentality for winning trophies. The deal looked perfect.

However just two years down the line - there is speculation that Raphael Varane will be leaving the club, which means a replacement will be needed in due course.
