Tottenham midfielder Matthew Craig is wanted by Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday for next season following his impressive form on loan at Doncaster Rovers, sources have told Football Insider.

The Championship duo are already planning loan moves for the 21-year-old this summer.

Craig has been outstanding for Doncaster Rovers since joining the club on loan in January and has played a key role in their stunning late season run to reach the League Two play-offs.

Craig is highly regarded at Tottenham and was captain for the club's Under-21s this season before joining Rovers in mid-season.

A two-leg play-off against Crewe Alexandra awaits early next month, with Crawley Town and MK Dons facing off in the other clash.

A move to Millwall or Sheffield Wednesday would be a step up for the youngster, with the former sitting 16th in the Championship table and the latter sitting 20th.

Craig does, however, boast one senior Spurs appearance, having featured as a substitute in the 4-1 win at Leeds United on the final day of the 2022/23 season.

At international level, the midfielder has worked his way through the Scottish youth ranks, featuring for the likes of the Under-21s and Under-19s.

Exits are expected at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, with the midfield position set to be impacted as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg seeks to move on, sources told Football Insider earlier this month.
