Japhet Tanganga could be sold by Tottenham

HomeExclusives Tottenham News Speaking to Bryan King Wed 1 May 2024 12:10, UK

Bryan King believes Japhet Tanganga is set to leave Tottenham after what the on-loan Millwall defender was spotted doing recently.

The ex-Spurs scout can't see any way that the centre-back gets back into Spurs' first-team under Ange Postecoglou.

Tanganga has been on loan in the Championship with Millwall since January, recently helping the Lions to secure safety in the division.

As per Kiro Evans via X (27 April), the 24-year-old was one of the last players to finish a lap of appreciation after Millwall's final home game of the season, with supporters in attendance calling for him to stay put.

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - feels that a permanent move is on the cards.

"Tanganga has done well with Millwall, he has been playing regularly, he has made an impact, and his confidence has grown," King said.

"I don't see him getting a chance at Tottenham, they have only just brought a new centre-back recently, and Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are the established starters.

"Tanganga would have very few opportunities in a Spurs shirt, and I think there's a chance his move to Millwall could be made permanent."

Japhet Tanganga set for Tottenham exit after Millwall form This loan move has worked out perfectly for Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

Tanganga's value would have been at an all-time low earlier this season after his failed loan move to the Bundesliga.

Almost 10 months had passed since his last competitive appearance when he joined Millwall.

But the defender has been in fine form at the Den, and Spurs might now be able to fetch a respectable fee for their academy product.

In other Tottenham news, King has called for VAR to be scrapped after what happened against Arsenal.
