‘A perfect send off’ – Middlesbrough vs Millwall prediction: The72
Source:The72 Club

Millwall travel to Middlesbrough this weekend with Neil Harris looking to bow out with an impressive win at the Riverside.

Millwall boss Harris will resign after the game against Middlesbrough, ending his second spell as full-time boss.

The news of his departure came as a major surprise to many, given his strong performance since taking charge in February.

The Lions come into this weekend's fixtures targeting a win at Middlesbrough that could push them closer to the play-off spots.

After going nine league games unbeaten, Millwall suffered a setback with a home defeat to Coventry City last weekend, followed by another loss in midweek against league leaders Sheffield United.

As for Middlesbrough, they are chasing a play-off spot and find themselves just one point outside those illusive places.

In midweek, they were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United.

While a loss to Daniel Darke's is nothing to panic about, the performance left much to be desired.

Michael Carrick will expect his team to bounce back quickly against Millwall.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game.

"Millwall on the other hand have started to drop off recently.

No wins in five has seen them fall away from the play-off-chasing pack.

"I think there is only one winner for this game.

Middlesbrough will likely come out with three points but then again Carrick's side are prone to shock defeat.

""Boro have been electric going forward at their best and while they're not the most consistent of sides or a finished article, they should be aiming for all three points here.

They're on home turf, but the Lions will look to shut up shop and grind out a result.

"The visiting players should be amped up for this to give Harris a perfect send off as a thank you for his work at The Den.

However, I think I see the hosts emerging victorious.

"Prediction: Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall.
