Newcastle United's miserable run of form continued on New Year's Day.
Despite scoring twice at Liverpool, Newcastle were well beaten at Anfield and the 4-2 scoreline perhaps flatters Eddie Howe's side.
Indeed, as per the Premier League's official website, the hosts had 15 shots on target and 34 overall. In comparison, Howe's side mustered only 3 out of 5 respectively.
It was another difficult day for the players, many of whom look out of form at the moment.
Gary Neville certainly spotted one during commentary.
Anthony Gordon: Gary Neville criticises Newcastle star Speaking during commentary, the Sky Sports pundit spoke of Anthony Gordon's performance, albeit he did manage to get the assist for Alexander Isak's goal.
"He's well below par Anthony Gordon," he said.
"He looks absolutely knackered. Look at him there, he's just walking."

In fact, Neville wasn't the only one to notice. The Daily Telegraph's Luke Edwards also wrote of the 22-year-old on X (formerly Twitter): "What has happened to Gordon? All the deserved criticism that has come [Miguel] Almiron's way in recent weeks ignores the fact he has been really poor away from home for a while."
Whether or not fatigue is completely to blame for his slowing down after a stunning start to the season is of course up for debate but playing so often cannot be ignored.
He has missed just one of Newcastle's 28 games this season, struggling with injury at times during the campaign.
At his best, Gordon was being tipped as one of the best players in the Premier League this season. He's shown what he's capable of but it's hard to deny there's been a drop-off since.
With Harvey Barnes reportedly closing in on a return, perhaps Gordon could be in line for a rest.
