The summer transfer window could be very interesting for Newcastle United after a disappointing 2023-24 campaign.

The Magpies find themselves 10th in the Premier League table, but they have kept full faith in Eddie Howe. Many pundits have argued that Jose Mourinho should replace Howe, but Howe's job is not under threat, especially after an injury-plagued season. The club believe he is the right man to take the club forward.

The major problem for the Magpies will be to improve the squad and still stay within the limit of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. The Magpies may have to sell some of their star players before they can buy and simultaneously make the squad competitive.

Without Champions League football, Newcastle could struggle to sign their first-choice targets. It's definitely challenging, although Howe recently suggested that he doesn't think a major overhaul of the squad is needed.

Bolstering the midfield could be a priority for Howe, and they've reportedly enquired to sign one of the hottest properties in Europe.

Newcastle join race to sign Georgiy Sudakov According to Tutto Juve journalist, Mirko Di Natale, Newcastle have made an enquiry for Georgiy Sudakov. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is targeted by Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, while Juventus are also interested in him.

He plays for Shakhtar Donetsk who keep on producing quality players after Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Fabrizio Romano recently said in Here We Go Podcast that Sudakov is a "very special" talent, and he has an astronomical release clause.

Romano said on The Here We Go Podcast: "Yes there is a release clause included in his new deal, Georgiy Sudakov, who is a very special talent, Shakhtar keep producing interesting players after Mykhaylo Mudryk.

"And in the contract of Sudakov, the release clause is already valid in the summer, so starting from June, and is available for EUR150m."

Di Natale, however, claims that he has a release clause of around PS85m (EUR100m), although it's unlikely that none of these clubs would be willing to pay that amount.

Premier League clubs have become cautious over their spending after witnessing what happened to Everton and Nottingham Forest, and given Newcastle's financial conditions at the moment, another big-money transfer is unthinkable.
