With Ange Postecoglou back in Melbourne for the first time since 2019, for a friendly match between Tottenham Hotspur and A-League side Newcastle United, he has caught up AFL club Carlton FC.

Postecoglou is a lifetime Carlton supporter who in 2015 sat on a panel alongside Chris Judd, Ken Sheldon and others that selected Brendon Bolton to coach the Blues.

Earlier that year, he visited Ikon Park, when he was the Socceroos coach and met with then-Carlton coach Mick Malthouse and players, fresh off lifting up the Asian Cup.

Late last year, Collingwood star Josh Daicos visited Tottenham Hotspur and met Ange. Photo: joshdaicos/Instagram On Tuesday some of the current Carlton players ventured down to AAMI Park for Tottenham's open training, where they participated in a guernsey swap.

The boys in blue are not the only big-name club interested in meeting the Greek Australian manager.

Collingwood coaches had the opportunity to share knowledge and talk coaching strategy with Ange.

That visit was organised by a mutual sponsor shared between Tottenham and Collingwood and included a meeting with Postecoglou.
