Newcastle United fans needn't bother worrying themselves about what our rivals amongst the top eight clubs in the Premier League are up to this summer.

By the top eight, I mean the Septic Six plus Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Villa have received a lovely little bonus all the same with Unai Emery penning a new five year deal.

I believe Newcastle will ensure that they also get their own house in order big time, all the way from executive level and then subsequently filtering down into the playing squad out on the training pitch.

I am convinced it will be a busy summer at St James' Park with incomings and outgoings.

I don't really anticipate any real shocks in the outgoing department, but Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson, I believe have probably played their last games for our club.

They've both been excellent servants and Wilson is right up there with some of the best finishers we have ever seen in the black and white stripes. It's just been a great pity regarding his regular injuries.

A new striker will be one of Eddie Howe's priorities and I am looking forward to see who we go for.

The more and more I look at the goalkeeping situation, I get the impression that a move will be made for Valencia's Georgi Marmardashvili. He won't come cheap.

At this moment, Lloyd Kelly looks nailed on to be joining Newcastle on a Bosman. Eddie Howe knows Kelly well having signed him for Bournemouth for PS13m from Bristol City back in 2019.

Tosin could also be joining the Magpies after we recently submitted a lucrative contract offer. If he comes he comes, however, I'll lose no sleep over it if he doesn't.

I have noticed that rumours abound and that tongues are wagging again about a possible exit for our team captain Kieran Trippier.

This also wouldn't surprise me and Newcastle may well think that it would the right time to cash in on a player now into his thirties. Kieran didn't do himself any favours last season with the frequent errors that gradually crept into his game, although he still does have plenty credit left with the fans.

Next season is going to be a big one for Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall. I have heard some of the lads comparing them to the young 1970s duo of Irving Nattrass and Alan Kennedy. If they eventually turn out as good as them two we'll all be chuffed to bits.

I expect young Anthony Gordon to just start where he left off again this coming August. This lad just loves it up here and it is a pleasure to have him in our ranks.

Harvey Barnes is another special player and with a little bit more luck will soon become another star in stripes.

I'll be backing the Rolls Royce Alexander Isak to bang in another 20 league goals too. There is nothing much I can add to what you all already know about 'Ice-cold in Alex'.

I would advise fans not to fret about Bruno Guimaraes PS100 buy-out clause this June. Who could really afford him this summer and why would he want to go back to France with PSG? Bruno is very happy here and would also have to want to leave.

Once players start coming back from the various international tournaments and the new fixture list for next season is upon us, I expect there to be a certain hunger and anticipation amongst everybody involved at Newcastle United, from the staff to the supporters.

This 2024/25 season could be the one when a lot of our dreams may be fulfilled.

I can feel the enthusiasm amongst my close mates that I socialise with on a daily basis. Men in their late 50s, 60s and early 70s that I have known for over 40 years.

Our camaraderie is as strong as ever and as one of the young-uns commented recently, with regards to our table in the Fat Ox..."bloody hell, just imagine how many Toon games and memories this lot have between them."

Well I'm going to tell you all this straight because I can feel it in my bones.

The memories Newcastle United are going to create next season and beyond are going to be greater and better than anything that we could have ever dreamed of experiencing.

I'm getting excited already and United's season has barely just finished.

In the summer of 1986, Nu Shooz had a hit with a record I liked and bought called 'I can't Wait'.

That's exactly how I'm feeling right now when I cast my mind forward to next season.
