‘Do you not think it’s crazy’: Jason Cundy unhappy at possible transfer deal facing Newcastle
Source: Just a

Newcastle United won't be playing European football next season.

Since the Saudi-led takeover and since Eddie Howe took charge, everything has been positive and there has been huge progression.

But the recently concluded Premier League campaign was the first blip on Howe's CV at Newcastle after they finished seventh.

Of course, Manchester United's FA Cup final win over Manchester City meant no Europe for the club, because if there was, then perhaps the mood would have been more upbeat.

If the Magpies could, they would spend like crazy. Like Manchester City and Chelsea did when they first had rich owners enter their club.

But Newcastle can't do that now because of the anti-competitive rules, instead, there is probably more talk of who is going to leave, than any big names that might join.

Jason Cundy stated that it's 'crazy' Newcastle might have to sell a player like Alexander Isak this summer because of financial restrictions, as he told talkSPORT.

Scott Minto did interrupt and tell his fellow pundit that they might not be forced to sell, but they were both still calling for a rule change.

Alexander Isak's future at Newcastle United "Do you not think it's crazy that clubs like Newcastle have to sell Isak to get through (PSR)," said Cundy

"You have to sell your best players. How does that work?!"

Scott Minto added: "I don't think they have to sell Isak, but if they want to make the squad better, then they have to balance the books."

The 24-year-old netted 21 goals from 30 matches, despite just playing over 2000 minutes.

You wonder how many goals he will score if he can get at least 35 starts under his belt because he can probably hit closer to 30.

Erling Haaland is seen as the goalscoring king in the Premier League and it wouldn't be a surprise if people have Isak second.
