Source:The 4th

Newcastle United will welcome Wimbledon at St. James' Park this Tuesday night as they hope to earn a win at home in the EFL Cup. The Magpies managed to grind out a 1-1 draw against Manchester City recently which should give them some confidence ahead of this cup game in midweek.

Eddie Howe will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a handful of changes to his first team for this clash. William Osula should get the nod to lead the line for the Tyneside club in the final third.

4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Wimbledon Defence

Martin Dubravka could get a chance to feature in goal for the Magpies as he looks to keep a clean sheet at St. James' Park. Dan Burn will operate alongside Emil Krafth at the heart of Newcastle's defence as they look to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.

Tino Livramento will be named as the right-back while Lloyd Kelly hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Wimbledon half.

Fabian Schar will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench. However, Jamaal Lascelles will miss this game because of injury.

Howe could opt for a midfield three of Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Sandro Tonali. The talented trio need to retain possession well and create some inviting chances for their teammates up top.

Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton will be rested on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Harvey Barnes will try to prove his worth on the left flank while Miguel Almiron hopes to put his pace to good use on the right wing. William Osula will lead the charge for the Tyneside club down the middle.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then. However, Callum Wilson remains unavailable due to injury.
