‘So thankful’: Fabian Schär now thanks the owners for bringing ‘amazing’ man into the club

Fabian Schar was on media duties alongside Eddie Howe today ahead of the Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.

Swiss international Schar has become an integral part of Eddie Howe's Newcastle which seemed incredibly unlikely when the former Bournemouth man took over at St James' Park.

When Eddie arrived, Fab was a forgotten man, never played and it looked like his career was over thanks to the incredible man-management skills of Steve Bruce.

Swiss rock Howe started with a clean slate and every player was given the opportunity to impress.

Fabian Schar was reinstated to the first team by Eddie Howe and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. He has become a rock forging solid partnerships with both Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles.

Now Schar has gone on record to thank Newcastle United for appointing Eddie Howe admitting that the 45-year-old saved his career when speaking to the media ahead of the Champions League game (via The Chronicle).

Fab is certainly not the only one glad of Howe's arrival "I wouldn't be in this position without him. I'm so thankful the club brought him in. I try to give everything back and leave my heart on the pitch."

Schar will not be alone with those sentiments I'm sure with the improvement we've seen in players like Jacob Murphy, Miguel Almiron and Joelinton.

Away from the squad, I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of Newcastle fans would like to thank the club for that appointment too.
