The wife of Kieran Trippier has responded to the incident involving her husband and a fan following Newcastle United's defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday night.
United lost their first Premier League game since their last visit to the South Coast - Brighton and Hove Albion on September 2 - as Dominic Solanke netted a second-half brace.
And as Eddie Howe's squad went over to thank the 1,300 travelling Geordies at full-time, Trippier got into a verbal altercation with a supporter which was picked up on camera.
Trippier's wife, Charlotte Trippier, has responded to the clash on her Instagram page. She said: "You fans are amazing!! So many gorgeous messages. Don't worry, KT is not panicking about that 1 fan last night."
"Sickened by what I seen on Twitter, we're decimated with injuries. By far our best right-back ever and his leadership abilities are there for every true fan to see.
Kieran Trippier's wife, Charlotte, has had her say on the altercation between her husband and a Newcastle United fan. "Thank you for supporting your husbands on his choice to join Newcastle."
Indeed, Trippier addressed the incident immediately after the game.
"It was just one of those where they were emotional and they have travelled far - we were having a chat," he told Premier League Productions.
"A message to the fans we apologise for this result and the lads are giving everything in the circumstances the lads are in.
"We are not panicking and we must stick together.
"The international break has come at the right time for the team and to have some down time and refresh then come back. After the break it will be relentless again."
Trippier joins up with England for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia before returning to Premier League action against Chelsea on November 25.
United are currently without 11 first team players after Howe confirmed new injuries for Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson.
