With the way things are going at the moment, we need all the good news we can get on the injury front, and there's some good news about our 53 times-capped Paraguayan International Miguel Almiron (7 goals).
Almiron was the latest player to pick up an injury on Saturday when he went down early in the game at Bournemouth and had to be replaced by Matt Ritchie.
When it happened, Eddie Howe could be seen shaking his head (in disbelief) on the sidelines that yet another of his first team players was injured.
But the news today is not all that bad on Almiron, who has withdrawn from the Paraguay side who play against Chile and Colombia during the International break, so his treatment can start immediately.
The Paraguay national team have announced Almiron has a femoral biceps injury, which was provided to them by Newcastle United:
"The medical team of the National Team communicates that the player Miguel Almiron suffered a grade 1 muscle injury to the femoral biceps of the right thigh, so he will not be able to be part of the next team qualifying,"
The good news is that's a minor injury - being grade one.
Grade 1; this is a mild strain. You may experience some pain when you use your leg, but it will be minor and there will be minimal swelling. Grade 2; this is a partial tear of one or more of the hamstring muscles.
So the treatment of a grade one muscle injury is the old tried and trusted rice - rest, ice, compression, and elevation.
Back in the day, we used to call hamstring strains a pulled muscle.
And probably these days they probably have other ways of treating a grade one muscle strain.
The bottom line is Almiron should be able to return quite quickly, but not sure if the game at home to Chelsea on November 25th will come too early.
It could have been a lot worse for Almiron, so we can be thankful for that.
