Newcastle United have had their fair share of cult heroes over the years.
While most of the current team are performing at the kind of level Newcastle could only have dreamed about a few years ago, that certainly hasn't always been the case.
The Mike Ashley years, of course, were rather bleak but there were a number of players who delighted supporters even in a difficult time for the club in a general sense.
Indeed, the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa, Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye and the late Cheick Tiote proved popular figures.
Which brings us to the latest developments surrounding Papiss Cisse.
Papiss Cisse: Former Newcastle striker set to join Macclesfield Town Few will need reminding of the immediate impact Cisse made when joining Newcastle from Freiburg in 2012.
That brace at Chelsea will live long in the memory, as will his absolutely delightful chip away at Swansea.
Cisse has played in Turkey and France since leaving the Toon but it now appears his career is taking something of a turn.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 38-year-old is training with non-league Macclesfield Town now under the management of Steve Bruce's son, Alex.
Not only that, there is a hope he will sign a permanent contract there.
A key player who scored some big, meaningful goals, the striker has spoken fondly of his time at the club.
So, it'd be fantastic to see him strutting his stuff in non-league. What a swansong to a very decent career that would be.
Having given us supporters some wonderful memories, Newcastle fans should be wishing Cisse all the best in what looks like quite the adventure.
