Norwich City blasted by agent after transfer fiasco – Medical claims completely dismissed

Bertug Yildirim's agent Mirsad Turkcan has criticised Norwich City for their treatment of the player and the reported failed medical.

Yildirim's agent has been speaking to Sports Digital in Turkey regarding the situation after Norwich appeared to be close to signing the Rennes striker.

A deal was progressing as expected after the two clubs agreed a deal, with Yildirim travelling to the Championship to undergo a medical ahead of signing for the Canaries.

All was going well on the EUR8m deal, with Rennes even announcing a replacement in the form of Sarpsborg's Danish centre-forward Henrik Meister.

Instead, reports stated a knee issue was detected by Norwich's team during Yildirim's medical, leading them to pull out of the deal, presumably deeming it not worth of the risk given the fee they were paying and the contract on the table.

That meant Yildirim was sent back to France to link back up with Rennes, amid claims that the deal was now completely off, and Norwich would be looking elsewhere. The whole process has left Turkcan unimpressed, leading to him calling out the Canaries today and their conduct during the whole process.

"Norwich and Rennes reached an agreement for a total of EUR8m and Bertug went to England for a health check," he said.

"Norwich side stated that there is a "risk of injury" for Bertug, who passed his health check, and stated that they could take this risk if it was cheaper.

"We were disturbed by this situation and returned to France without signing. Bertug was in our national team's Euro 2024 squad and completed the pre-season camp with his team in a healthy manner. Bertug Yildirim does not have a health problem as claimed."
