Jamie Carragher has been explaining that he has a strong relationship with Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper. The Sky Sports pundit has been quizzed on managers in the Premier League and he's a fan of Cooper.
The reputable pundit has been discussing life doing analysis for Sky Sports. He was quizzed on all things behind the scenes and talk turned to whether or not he knows the teams that have been picked before the official announcement.
He told the Covering Liverpool podcast: "I'm close with a couple of managers. Like Steve Cooper at Forest but that's just because he coached James at Liverpool so I can't then turn around and go, 'Oh, I'm not speaking to you'.
"I speak to him now and again and if Forest are on Monday Night Football I might try and get hold of him. Not for his team selection, I'm not interested in that, to be honest, but more to try and get a general feel, what's the feel around the place going into the game.

Carragher suggests he has a good relationship with Forest head coach Cooper This is another nod in the direction of Cooper being a very likeable man in the world of football. He seems like the sort of bloke that would give anyone a moment of his time and he always speaks well to the press.
Cooper used to coach at the Liverpool academy way before he came to Forest. It was there where he coached James Carragher who is now trying to make a name for himself at Wigan in League One.
Carragher has spoken very highly of Forest since they returned to the Premier League. It can come across sometimes as though he has a little soft spot for Forest and that would make sense given his claims made about Cooper.
