Liverpool want to 'do everything' to give Klopp 'deserved' success - Elliott

Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has labelled the current state of the Premier League "a mess" amid the point deductions affecting both the East Midlands side and Everton.

The Premier League issued Forest with a four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules, but are still waiting for a hearing after confirming their intention to appeal the decision. Fellow relegation battlers Everton were stripped of two further points for a second breach of the same rules on April 8, after previously seeing their initial 10-point deduction reduced to six after an appeal. "I never experienced this situation, none of us have experienced this before. It's a mess," said Nuno in his press conference looking ahead to Saturday's match against his old club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Nuno continued: "So much is going on, we cannot clearly know what is going to happen. Let's wait. Me and the players are only focused on our task.

"It's very important we have the decision sooner. It's better for us and it is better for the competition so it doesn't create mess, confusion and uncertainty, because this is what we are experiencing now - so much going on, so much talking, appeal after appeal. We don't know."

"We have to stay together. We need everyone involved, everyone in the football club to be involved in this big fight we have."

Forest were penalised after exceeding the PS61 million loss threshold by PS34.5m on March 18, and revealed their intention to appeal a week later.

"The club will not be making any further statement at this time."

Any decision regarding Forest's appeal of the deduction must come by May 24 - five days after their final match of the season away at Burnley.

However, it is expected that an outcome will be decided before the date.

Nuno's side currently sit 17th in the table with 25 points and above Luton Town on goal difference, while The Toffees are 16th and have 27 points.
