Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna earned another Scotland start last night as they faced France in Paris. The Tartan Army were thrashed 4-1 by the World Cup finalists as they were dealt a dose of reality.
Scotland have collected their boarding passes for Germany next summer. They will be at Euro 2024 and they've enjoyed a remarkable qualifying campaign under the influence of Steve Clarke.
McKenna shines despite Scotland defeat This was a tough night for the 26-year-old and his international teammates. Forest defender McKenna was once again deputising for Kieran Tierney and he earned some praise from the national media.
Football Scotland gave him a 6/10 and claimed: "Did well against Spain despite the daunting task of replacing Kieran Tierney. Will likely be happy enough with his display again tonight, giving the manager food for thought."

More praise came from The Herald, who also gave him a 6/10 and said: "Another start for the centre-back. Given his distinct lack of game time in recent months he did fairly well."
Forest have decision to make over McKenna Having paid around PS6 million to sign McKenna in 2020, the club now have a decision to make with the centre-back. He will be out of contract in the summer and it would be a huge shame to see him leave for free.
McKenna was a brilliant player during the promotion-winning season of 2021/22. However, the club now has seemingly better options ahead of him and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
