A huge mural of legendary football managers Brian Clough and Jimmy Sirrel has been unveiled in Nottingham.

The image, depicting the former Nottingham Forest and Notts County managers, has been painted on the London House wall opposite the Trent Navigation Inn pub.

The mural, completed by artists at MurWalls, is based on a photograph taken of the pair at Trent Bridge in 1985.

The artwork was finalised on Tuesday.

It was finalised within a day, with work starting at about 18:30 on Monday.

The artists behind the new painting in Meadow Lane had already completed other murals depicting football personalities such as Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.

Thomas Holodynsky, operations manager at the Great Northern Group which runs the pub, said the addition was "absolutely fantastic".

He said: "Murals are the modern-day statues and it just shows that two clubs together are stronger than one.

"I think it's going to be a tourist destination now, people are going to make this part of their pathway on the way to watch matches at Meadow Lane and City Ground.

"It's unfathomable the amount of talent that goes in to that kind of creation, it's absolutely fantastic and even better in person."
