29-year-old Forest player earns rave reviews after displays for his country, two brilliant performances

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos has earned some recognition for his two recent performances on the international stage. The stopper was in action for Greece against the Republic of Ireland and Holland over the last fortnight.

The 29-year-old signed for the Reds on transfer deadline day from Benfica. He cost the club around PS10 million and is still awaiting his debut for the club following his summer arrival.

Vlachodimos earns recognition for Greece performances The Forest stopper has been named in the Who Scored Team of the Week for his efforts on international duty. It features eleven players who have starred for their countries and Vlachodimos has made the cut.

The player was signed in the summer by Evangelos Marinakis. It was claimed in one report that the Reds chief was keen to have a Greek international in the Forest squad and he couldn't really have picked a better player.

According to Who Scored, Forest star Vlachodimos made five saves in the game against Holland and four in the game against the Republic of Ireland. The goalkeeper also saved a Wout Weghorst penalty against the Dutch.

Vlachodimos itching for Forest chance Right now, the Forest stopper probably understands that he has to be patient. Interestingly, Vlachodimos isn't the only Forest goalkeeper to be doing well on the international stage, with Matt Turner earning praise too.

For Vlachodimos, he could have done no more during this international break. It will have been a good confidence boost to get two games under his belt. Now, he will be itching to play for Forest in the near future.
