Almost seven weeks ago, Ibrahim Sangare was unveiled as a Nottingham Forest player amid a special light show at the City Ground.
A club record signing, getting the deal over the line was quite the coup for the Reds. As Forest's own social media account announced, he was the addition fans had "been waiting for".
Lighting up the Premier League is a different challenge, but it looks as though Sangare has started to find his feet in English football. On the back of his big-money switch from PSV Eindhoven, we take a look at his season so far.
How have things been going? The 25-year-old had no shortage of admirers in the summer. Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were among the clubs linked.
Forest had been chasing him for some time. They did have to splash out a significant sum to get him, but as their marquee signing of the transfer window he was seen as having the potential to help transform the side.
The midfielder didn't arrive in time to feature against Chelsea in the game immediately after deadline day. An international break followed, then he was thrown straight into the first XI when the action resumed.
Sangare's debut consisted of playing the full 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Burnley. He has made the starting line-up for every game since, notching up four appearances in total.
It has taken him a bit of time to adapt, with a fairly quiet start to life Trentside. However, there is no doubt about his quality; more and more, he has started to show what he can do.
He offered a glimpse of what he is about in his very first outing, with a lovely ball for Taiwo Awoniyi which led to Callum Hudson-Odoi's goal against the Clarets. He can clearly pick a pass and has made some promising driving runs.
His versatility has also proved useful, with head coach Steve Cooper opting to deploy the Ivory Coast international in a more advanced role against Brentford. That game was arguably Sangare's best performance so far - although he also did well in the first half against Crystal Palace.
Cooper seems to have found a nice balance to his midfield at the moment. The combination of Sangare, Orel Mangala and Nicolas Dominguez is proving an effective one.
What has been said? "He has undoubted quality and is the profile of midfield player we wanted to bring in," Cooper said shortly after Sangare had put pen to paper. "It's been quite a long process in getting him here, but we're delighted he's chosen us as he could have chosen so many other clubs. We're really looking forward to working with him."
On Sangare's involvement in the goal against Burnley, Cooper said: "He can definitely offer more of that. It was important for him to be a part of the goal.
"To get the breakthrough in the way we did, with Ibrahim's pass, Taiwo's continuation of having an impact in the goals we score, and Callum scoring, we could take a lot of good things out of that goal. That will be good for individual confidence as well."
On the summer signing operating in an advanced role against Brentford, Cooper said: "He has done that quite a bit in his career. You could see him driving forward and trying to get into the box with Nicolas.
"Ibrahim got man of the match from the supporters, so they will have liked some of the things they saw. It's only his third game in England, and it takes time to really get into it. Sometimes you have to put players in certain positions - like we did with Danilo last year - to really get up to speed with how it is. We're really happy with him. The exciting bit is we know he's only going to get better."
"We played PSV in a pre-season game and we played against Sangare," Gibbs-White said. "And phew, he's a problem! I'm talking Yaya Toure 2.0!
"It's his athletic ability; he's so strong, he's explosive and he can get past people. But also, you wouldn't think it, but on the ball he's technically very good."
What's next? Sangare has quickly pinned down a starting spot. However, the centre of the pitch is an area where competition for places is fierce, so there can be no resting on laurels.
Cooper has taken great care with integrating Forest's newcomers. He was keen not to throw them all in at once and has been very deliberate about when to give players a chance.
Nevertheless, midfield was a problem area for the Reds last season, and they seem to have found a good solution so far. It means the likes of Ryan Yates and Cheikhou Kouyate find themselves fighting to get into the team, while Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos is yet to make his league debut.
Forest are eager to push on this term. Recruiting Sangare was seen as a key factor in that. Players adjust at different speeds, but once he really gets going he can be a difference-maker for Cooper's side.
