Nottingham Forest eye swoop for Tottenham target after rejected bid

Nottingham Forest could reportedly reignite their interest in Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu.

Forest saw their efforts to sign the 24-year-old in the summer rebuffed. It was claimed that an offer of EUR11 million (PS9.5m) was deemed "very low" by the Turkish side.

Akturkoglu still remains in the spotlight with several sides said to have watched him in action for Turkey and Galatasaray recently. According to TEAMtalk, Forest have been one of the sides to "check" on the winger along with Aston Villa, West Ham, Brighton and Everton.

Tottenham meanwhile, are also said to be credited with an interest and have "initiated contact" over a potential January move. He has been in fine form so far this season, registering five goals and seven assists in 16 games in all competitions.

Previous reports claimed that Akturkoglu is receptive to the idea of playing in English football's top-flight. Should the Reds reignite their interest in the new year, they will face competition from a host of clubs in Europe who are said to be eyeing him up.

The Turkey international is under contract until 2026 after signing for Galatasaray in 2020.
