Since his debut against Brentford a couple of weeks ago, Nottingham Forest defender Murillo hasn't looked back.

He joined Forest relatively late on in the summer window for a fee in the region of PS13.7 million from Brazilian side Corinthians.

A move that potentially raised a few eyebrows, given the fact the 21-year-old only made his professional debut in April of this year.

However, after his first two games at his new club, he looks as though he's been around for decades with his composure on the ball coupled with his ability to win possession back for his side.

"There is a relationship of trust between me and the club and me and the manager as well," Murillo says.

"He has always made me feel at ease. He has talked to me a lot ever since I arrived. He is an excellent manager and I'm really happy to be working with him.

"In terms of how he wants me to play, what he has said to me is that he wants me to do what I was doing for Corinthians in Brazil. He wants me to put that same quality on the pitch.

"So, that's to do with the quality of my passing, playing long balls and penetrative passes. Obviously, as a centre-back, your most important characteristic is marking, but he's also looking to my passing ability."

It's not often you see a 21-year-old defender adapt to the demands of the Premier League in such a short period of time.

With Manchester City rumoured to have been interested in signing him last summer, it is clear the Reds have a very talented youngster on their hands.

Should he continue at this rate of progression, he will easily be a PS50 million defender in the coming years.
