Nottingham Forest youngster Brandon Aguilera has now shared a story from his time under Steve Cooper last season.

The Costa Rica international spent the first half of the 2023/24 campaign at the City Ground before moving to Bristol Rovers on loan in January - where he scored twice in 12 League One appearances.

The youngster from Naranjo has gone from relative obscurity to a seasoned international with 16 caps for Costa Rica - three of those coming at the 2022 World Cup - while he also made his Premier League debut against Brentford last season.

A few months before that debut came a maiden appearance on the bench in a Premier League game for Nottingham Forest, as Cooper named Aguilera in the matchday squad for a trip to Stamford Bridge, which the Reds won 1-0.

To some, this might not seem like a huge deal, although it clearly made Aguilera feel important at Nottingham Forest, and the Costa Rican evidently values the moment significantly.

Nuno Espirito Santo has a decision to make It remains to be seen what Nottingham Forest do with Aguilera over the summer following his impressive loan spell at Bristol Rovers, in which he blew Callum Hudson-Odoi away after one particularly fine strike.

However, should Nuno Espirito Santo leave Aguilera in reserve for the 2024/25 campaign, his value will decrease, so the Portuguese tactician needs to make a decision this summer.
