Manchester United legend Patrice Evra was quick to praise heroes Harry Maguire and Andre Onana after the win over Copenhagen.

Harry Maguire scored the winning goal in the Champions League clash, with Andre Onana saving an injury time penalty.

This was our first Champions League win of the season, and moved us up into third place in the group.

It was what United needed, and it was exactly what Andre Onana and Harry Maguire needed too.

He pointed towards Maguire and Onana, thanking them both for their resilience and spirited attitude.

Evra wrote: "I'm begging all my @manchesterunited fans to keep supporting every players on this team thank you @harrymaguire93 and @andreonana.24 never give up #ilovethisgame #positive4evra #manchesterunited"

He added in a reply to Manchester United's Instagram page highlighting Onana's penalty save: "The hate have to stop please "

Redemption night This was a perfect night for Manchester United's overly criticised stars. Harry Maguire has been ridiculed at times by the media.

Andre Onana has been a target for pundits too, who have been quick to write him off. And to look at it plainly, his early performances for Manchester United have been disappointing.

But he was strong against Sheffield United at the weekend and he was impressive last night against Copenhagen even before his penalty save.

His was a huge moment which will have lifted his confidence. This was a night of redemption for the duo, and it feels like Onana's Manchester United career in particular is now finally getting started.
