Nottingham Forest transfer news: Fourth signing imminent, Hudson-Odoi boost and Lyon target latest
Source: Nottinghamshire Live

Nottingham Forest's transfer plans for the new Premier League season are well underway with them kicking off the summer with several transfers in and out of the club.

So far, three new players have been signed, with the latest being midfielder Elliot Anderson who has joined from Newcastle United and is now officially part of the City Ground team. Equally crucial is the task of reducing the team size. Forest have already begun this process, and more departures are expected.

A fourth new signing is expected to be announced on Monday. That would add to Forest having already welcomed Eric da Silva Moreira, Anderson, and Marko Stamenic to the club this transfer window. Here we provide a round-up of the latest Forest transfer news and gossip as Nuno Espirito Santo's squad begins to take shape.

Next one in Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel will reportedly undergo his Nottingham Forest medical this weekend and complete his switch to the City Ground on Monday.

After weeks of speculation, Forest are entering the final stages of Miguel's PS3.4m transfer from Corinthians. According to the Athletic, the 6ft 8in goalkeeper will have his medical this weekend, with Brazilian outlet UOL reporting that he will sign a five-year deal on Monday.

Miguel's arrival would allow Forest to further freshen up the goalkeeping department, an area they have had difficult in over the past year. Odysseas Vlachodimos joined Newcastle last week after just a year at the club, while Matt Turner could also depart this summer.

Matz Sels established himself as Nuno Espirito Santo's first choice after arriving in the winter window, but 25-year-old Miguel will provide strong competition. It's possible another goalkeeper is signed too, to give Forest a third option, with Wayne Hennessey also having been released this summer.

Hudson-Odoi boost Forest appear to be in a strong position to keep hold of Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer amid reports of mounting interest in the player who joined the club for just PS3m from Chelsea 12 months ago.

After moving to the City Ground from Stamford Bridge, Hudson-Odoi scored eight goals and provided one assist in 29 Premier League games and is now claimed to be a wanted man.

The Athletic reports: "At least three clubs, including some from the Premier League, have registered an interest," in the 23-year-old whose value has soared, with Forest understood to have set a PS40m price tag on his head."

But the article adds: "Hudson-Odoi is also happy playing for Nuno Espirito Santo's side and is not agitating to leave a club who are giving him regular first-team football."

Reds face renewed competition for Lyon defender Everton are clinging to hopes of winning the race for Ireland centre-half Jake O'Brien whom Nottingham Forest have reportedly had their eye on.

The Toffees think Lyon defender O'Brien, 23, would choose them ahead of the Reds and West Ham, claims The Sun's transfer specialist Alan Nixon.

His report states: "Everton rate O'Brien in the PS20million bracket but the French side want around PS30m which the Hammers are not prepared pay. If Sean Dyche lands the Cork man then Michael Keane could leave several clubs have been alerted to his availability."

According to The Athletic, the Reds discussed centre-back O'Brien "as an option" in their talks with the French club over moves for Midfielder Orel Mangala and defender Moussa Niakhate.
